We begin the week, Monday, July 5th, with Sun-Uranus sextile going exact at 13 degrees of Cancer and Taurus. Uranus infuses its energy into the Sun just before the New Moon in Cancer on Friday, July 9th, remaining in soft sextile with the Moon-Sun conjunction at 18 degrees of Cancer. The New Moon in Cancer is about nurturing the process of change. This is a wonderful time to actualize the envisioned goals you want for yourself, reinforcing and creating positive change.
Also in the mix during this New Moon in Cancer is a Moon-Sun Semi-sextile with Mars in Leo which emphasizes nurturing the will to create. Further, the Moon-Sun forms a soft square to Chiron providing a gentle reinforcement of healing of our self-esteem and feelings of belonging.
Mercury is getting infused this week with various energies including a quincunx to Pluto (going exact on Thursday, July 8th) and a square to Neptune (going exact on Tuesday, July 6th). It may not be easy to concentrate this week as our minds may slip into day dreams or a desire for escapism.
Venus plays a strong role this week as well as it joins the mix with the Saturn-Uranus square forming a T-Square to Uranus. We’re challenged to express ourselves authentically, but diplomatically. Also, Venus joins Chiron and South Node/JunoRx in a Grand Fire Trine providing a wonderful opportunity for relationship growth and healing.
Finally, on Sunday, July 11th, Mercury enters into the nurturing sign of Cancer moving our mental energy toward greater perceptivity, sensitivity, and intuition.

Mercury-PlutoRx Quincunx
On Thursday, July 8th, Mercury-PlutoRx quincunx goes exact at 25 degrees and 47 minutes of Gemini and Capricorn. Because quincunx’s are challenging, our many thoughts (Mercury in Gemini) may be more difficult to organize and integrate information (Pluto in Capricorn). This quincunx energy requires us to take our time with projects and remember that all things ebb and flow. With this dynamic, it teaches us to be patient and thoughtful when gathering our thoughts and trying to make sense of things. If we take our time and not rush into wanting to know all the answers, they will come via strenuous and determined effort.
Mercury-Neptune Square — T-square to Mercury
Mercury is getting infused this week with various energies just before its entry into Cancer on Sunday. These energies include the Pluto quincunx I just talked about and a Neptune Square which actually went exact on Tuesday at 23 degrees and 10 minutes of Gemini and Pisces. As we can see there is a T-square to Mercury with Vesta and Neptune opposing each other and each of these planets squaring to Mercury.
It’s not going to be easy to concentrate this week. Our minds might be slipping into day dreams or desire for escapism. It’s best to stay as grounded as possible this week following our healthy routines and daily regimens to avoid mental exhaustion. This week will require much more attention to meditational practices and practicing mental relaxation when that is possible.
Venus-Uranus Square — T-Square to Uranus
Last week we had very Mars energy pervading. This week, Venus is highlighted as it joins the mix with the Saturn-Uranus square forming a T-square to Uranus and Venus forming a Grand Fire Trine with Chiron and South Node/JunoRx.
Venus represents the psychological need for predictability, stability, security, and pleasure. It represents our values and ethics. It’s also very relationally oriented.
Venus in Leo tends to want to play it safe when it comes to creative expression with a tendency to seek approval and belonging before radical and autonomous expression.
With Venus-Uranus square that goes exact on Thursday, July 8th, at 14 degrees and 4 minutes of Leo and Taurus (which occurs twice a year) and with Venus opposing Saturn, that went exact on Tuesday, July 6th, at 12 degrees and 1 minute of Leo and Aquarius forming a T-Square to Uranus we’re all challenged to express ourselves authentically, but diplomatically. This isn’t always an easy thing to do because our needs and values do not always match the needs and values of others. So, there is a tension for growth here to learn how to cooperate and express ourselves without over-stepping other’s boundaries.
Venus-Chiron Trine — Grand Fire Trine
This week Venus in Leo trines Chiron in Aries, having went exact on Wednesday, July 7th, at 12 degrees and 54 minutes. This forms a Grand Fire Trine with South/Node/JunoRx. This energetic configuration provides great opportunities for intense growth and healing in relationships as better understanding and cooperation marks the energy for this week.

On Friday, July 9th, we have a New Moon at 18 degrees and 2 minutes of Cancer, where the Moon and the Sun are conjunct. This New Moon is about nurturing the process of change and nurturing the will to create.
New Moons are about new beginnings. With the energies involved here, this New Moon is going to be a wonderful time to actualize the envisioned goals you want for yourself. The energies are very conducive for developing new routines and following through via reinforcement to make the positive changes you want to make in your life. Where this New Moon falls in your chart is the area of life that is ready for actualization.
Sun-Uranus Sextile — Nurturing the Process of Change
The Sun and Uranus were in perfect sextile on Monday at 13 degrees and 58 minutes of Cancer and Taurus. As such, Uranus infused its energy into the Sun just before the New Moon in Cancer on Friday, remaining in a soft sextile with the Moon-Sun conjunction (New Moon in Cancer).
The two constellations involved here, Taurus and Cancer, work well together because Taurus is stable and secure energy promoting the nurturing and comfort needs of Cancer. However, with Uranus in Taurus, the energies of the unpredictable, changeable, and the erratic come into the mix where safety, security, and comfort are the main goals. There is a challenge here a bit. However, the sextile aspect is an energy of excitation and promotes growth. The aim of this growth potential here is nurturing the process of change.
It is often very difficult to create change or adjust to change in our lives. Old habits die hard (the motto of Taurus). It’s natural to resist change. And, when we have goals in our life, actualizing the needed changes can be challenging because our old routines and habits feel safe. Both Taurus and Cancer like feeling safe. Change requires patience (which Taurus is very good at) and the will to create.
Moon-Sun Semi-sextile Mars — Nurturing the Will to Create
Let’s take a look at the second energetic goal of this New Moon which is nurturing the will to create. The Moon-Sun conjunction semi-textiles Mars in Leo. Basically, the Moon-Sun in Cancer is about nurturing and Mars in Leo is the will to create.
A semi-sextile is 30 degrees of separation between two signs and can be considered a developmental conveyance. In other words, the sign preceding the other can be considered a developmental prerequisite to the other. In this case the conveyance moves from Cancer (the need to belong, be nurtured, safe, and secure) to Leo (the need to feel special, form healthy self-esteem, and to meet creative potential). Cancer to Leo conveyance involves meeting our creative potential after first developing a base in our sense of safety and belonging in the world and forming a healthy and nurturing self-esteem.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs exemplifies the dynamic of developmental conveyance in astrology well. To actualize our potential means meeting our basic needs first (Cancer Needs for Security and Belonging and Love conveying to Leo Needs of Feeling accomplished and prestige).
This New Moon is very conducive time for manifesting the changes that we want to make in our lives. It promotes creating a new routine. It encourages patience and perseverance as we make positive and constructive changes. This New Moon advises adapting to change via reinforcement and creative will-power.
Moon/Sun-Chiron Soft Square
Finally, there is a soft square between the luminaries and Chiron (the Wounded Healer). As such, any one of us that have wounding to our self-esteem or feelings of belonging will want to focus on healing that and come up with ways for ourselves for doing so.
While I am not one hundred percent certain, I believe we’re here to learn how to love ourselves and others and manifest our creative potential. This conveyance from Cancer and Leo represents that.
July 11th, 2021 - Sunday
1:36pm PST Mercury enters Cancer
On Sunday, July 11th, Mercury enters Cancer. Mercury fundamentally represents thinking, communicating, and reasoning. It’s where we focus our mental energy. Whilst it has been in Gemini, our minds were focused on mental abstractions, gathering and organizing information. Mentally, many of us could have been feeling hyperactive, nervous, and mentally distracted.
As we convey from Gemini into Cancer, our thoughts and mental focus will be more emotionally based, concerned with emotional security, belonging, and nurturance. Our minds will work more sensitively, intuitively, and perceptively.
We do want to be mindful during this conveyance with Mercury in Cancer of potential misperceptions based on emotional triggers and emotional hypersensitivity. Don’t take things personal and be aware of emotionally charged over-thinking.
Mercury-Jupiter Trine
As we can see, Mercury in Cancer is in trine with Jupiter in Pisces. This trine will go exact next week, Monday. I’ll talk more about that next week. However, this dynamic infuses an expansion of empathy and spirituality into the mind.
